COMPUTER SECURITY ?

         You must have used different software application tocomplete the differnt taks; such as performing calculation, creating documents, creating presentation, playing movies and songs , playing games etc. All these programes are very helpful for you to perform a variety of tasks. but do you know that there are some other programs that are specially designed and created to harm the computer and damage the information stored in your computer.some programs directly attack on your computer and very dangerous to your information stored.
          NOW, To safe gaurd the computer from these programs, You need to identify the various security threats and take action against these programs to protect your computer.
  Let us learn about the different security threats and machanisms used for PROTECTION against them.

HOW TO KNOW THE SECURITY THREATS

   As the IT field grows it led to an increase in security threats. A major security threats is the rise in software specially designed to damage computers and information stored in your computer. Such software is called MALWARE.The malware software compasses various kinds of malicious software, such as VIRUSES, TROJAN, WORMS, SPYWARE.
 Let us learn about these security threats in detail👉

•VIRUSES-   The full form of VIROUS is 《Vital Infomation Resources Under Siege.》Virous are software programs thats is designed to damage the computer and to slow down the system.virous itself spread very rapidly to any program.They easily pass on to another compuetr or any other system. ones it activated it starts malicious activities, such as destroying hard disk and files.It can also cause your system to crash repeatedly or increase the size of files stored on the hard drive.

•SPYWARE-   Spyware is a software used by hackers to collect information about any person or an institute as well as organisation without thier knowledge.
         Hackers may send your information to others and they can sold it and earn money with spywar. whenever spyware is used for malacious purposes , its presence is hidden from the users, and also difficult to delete. spyware application are generally bundled as hidden components of freeware or shareware programs that can be downloded from internet.
     Now be alert! when you download these freeware, because SPYWARE also installed in your system.spyware has the ability to sacan the hard disc.Some example of Spyware are:--

1). ADWARE:-  Adware means a software that automatically displays ADVERTISEMENTS that create money for their auther .

2). KEYLOGGER:-  A Keylogger is a software that records each and every keystroke made by the users to gain malicious access to passward and other confidential information.

•WORMS:-  A WORM is a self replicating  malacious computer program that does not modify files but resides in the computer memory and spread themselves to other computer system by using the internet or an email.
     Example of Worm is CONFIKER , Which is commenly know as Downup or Downadup.A worm directly target the Microsoft windows operating system and was first detected in 2008. it disable the Window system security and antivirus products, thereby leaving system in a Vulnerable state.
  One other example of WORM is 'I LOVE YOU'.The virus was programmed to spread itself using the email system.when a user send an email, sequence of unexpected malicious activities such as, deleting files, COM is performed which cause computer to crash.

•TROJAN HORSE:-  A TROJAN HORSE is a destructive program that masqueredes as a useful anf helpful program.
     Trojans have not a similar property like virus to replicate themselves. Trojans can contain viruses that destroy or corrupt the data and program on the network. It also corrupt the software system. Trojan can be created by using existing utility programs.

HOW TO SECURE MY COMPUTER ?
         To protect your computer and data from the various security threats, you need to use a security machanism. There are many solution that can help you to protect your computer from threats. A Very common example is  ANTIVIRUS software.
   Antivirus software helps you in protecting against threats such as Viruses, Worms , and other malicious code.Once installed an the host machine, the software detects and removes the malicious code to protect the computer. Some example of Antivirus software are QUICK Heal, kaspersky and McAfee.

Antivirous software will not protect your computer against:_
* Any kind of criminal activity performed online.
*A hacker who is trying to break into your computer through the internet.

Despite taking all the precaution to protect your data and computer from security threats, you should face some situation where yout important data is lost so As a precautionary measure you should take backup time to time.
 It is my personal advice to you friends make a backup of your data and update it regularly. computer security and security of your information needs just like your daily need. so please
